What is Sensation Method in Homeopathy?
January 18, 2010 by innerhealth

Homeopathy requires a complex analysis process for the homeopath to find the “Simillimum” or best remedy for the patient. One of the first breakthroughs to support homeopaths was the Repertory. Boeninghausen came up with the theory of the three legged stool. In modern times Paul Herscu had the idea of cycles, Jan Scholten gave us a map of the periodic table for mineral remedies, Jeremy Sherr taught the “verb.”
The Bombay Group led by Dr. Rajan Sankaran came up with the idea of sensations, levels, kingdoms and a new interpretation of miasms. I was very fortunate to be at the Live Clinic Workshop in Bombay in 2003 when Dr. Sankaran took some cases where the patient used words that described a specific remedy during the casetaking. Many of these cases did not work based on these prescriptions but some had dramatic results. This was an exciting time and many homeopaths went back to their clinics to try to implement these new methodology. There was a lot of experimenting and many failures and some extraordinary successes. This method was called the “New Method.”
When we gathered again in Bombay for the next Live Clinic in 2004, I and a number of other homeopaths wanted to name this method something other than the New Method. I proposed the Sensation Method and at the time Dr. Sankaran was reluctant to name this work. He was more interested to use new terms such as the “Global Phenomena.”
In 2005 I started to teach, write and advertise how I was taking cases to “Source” where the patient could speak the language of the remedy they need on a consistent, step-by-step and reproducible way. I called this the “Sensation Method.” My students understood more and more how to implement the Sensation Method in their practice based on my teachings and spread the word.
By 2006 the New Method was becoming the Old Method and many homeopaths were using the Bombay Group’s ideas and started to call this the Sensation Method. It is now the general term for a methodology that combines the ideas of sensations, levels, kingdoms and miasms. There are currently many diverse points of views of how to apply these ideas in practice.

Homeopathy & Diabetes Treatment

Treatment for Diabetics & Using Homeopathy
The issue is what type of diabetes for understanding the prognosis. Homeopathy can be very helpful to support the person in their healing of diabetes but lifestyle changes also must happen.
Dr. Tim Stryker and Jenny Hwozdek, CCH, RsHom(NA) wrote the following information on diabetes and homeopathy which explains the situation very well:
“Type I Diabetes is an auto immune disease where the body has created antibodies that destroy the insulin producing cells in the pancreas while not causing harm to the cells in the pancreas that produce digestive enzymes, etc. Type I diabetes is not genetic. Chances are these children had some sort of infection preceding the diagnosis of Type I diabetes that resulted in the creation of antibodies that attacked the pancreas. So, Type I Diabetes is more about an Immune System that short-circuited and attacked itself.
The cause of Type I diabetes is not related to Diabetes in the family or to diet. In this scenario, there is a deeper susceptibility that results in the body turning on itself. By the time a child is symptomatic with Type I diabetes, virtually all the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas have been destroyed and that it is very difficult to heal something that is “missing.” It would be much easier to reverse damage when cells are still in the inflammatory process, but unfortunately, this stage of the insulin cell destruction is virtually symptomless—the body makes due with reduced cells and only shows crisis when the cells are mostly gone.
Type II Diabetes is directly related to hereditary factors and diet. Someone can inherit a weak pancreas (probably weakened by bad diet in the parents over a lifetime) and is then exacerbated by the person having A LOT of BODY FAT. The body fat is what causes the pancreas to overwork and requires the body to produce extra amounts of insulin which ultimately wears that pancreas out. Historically, Type II Diabetes set in later in life and it took 50 to 60+ years to wear the pancreas out. Today, with the epidemic of Obesity in children (especially large amounts of belly fat—belly fat cells really over stimulates insulin production) combined with a highly processed, simple carbohydrate/sugar laden diet—kids are doing in less than 20 years what it used to take 50 to 60+ years to accomplish.
With this in mind, it is then the loss of Body Fat that will do the most to control insulin levels and help control Type II diabetes over time. Diabetic kids need not only improve their diet, but they must loose weight in order to put less stress on the weakened pancreas and then there is a possibility of healing this overtaxed organ.
Homeopathy can help in terms of diabetes by increasing overall health, addressing the underlying inherited weakness and shifting the mental/emotional states that might be contributing to obesity, but these lifestyle factors must be addressed as well to heal Type II diabetes.”
Top Ten Things You Need to Be a Successful Homeopath

Many people are frustrated after they go to a homeopathy school because they didn’t
get what they needed to be a homeopath and make a living…I compiled a list to get you
thinking!
And there is also free lecture which focuses on becoming a homeopath and
being a better homeopath:
http://www.innerhealth.us/forms/AP_Free_Tele.html
Top Ten Things You Need to Be a Successful Homeopath
1. Do you have clinical experience? (You cannot do homeopathy successfully if you
have not been in a clinic setting–you must see successful cases)
2. Do you know how to manage your cases after the first prescription?
3. Do you have a business background–either in a service field, small business
experience or you are a connector type–you constantly meet people and connect them to
resources?
4. Do you audit your practice so you know where your strengths and weaknesses are?
In my opinion you need to have at least 80% success to make a living–for example you
have a small practice of 200 clients this would mean you have 40 people who are not
doing well and you need to change their remedy or potency, recase them or refer them
out. That’s a lot of people who are unsatisfied with homeopathy but manageable…the higher your
success the more referrals and less problems you experience…
5. Do you have support with your difficult cases–a mentor, a community, etc.?
6. Do you have an inner practice–meditation, personal retreats, journaling, etc.?
7. Do you know your laws in your state for practicing homeopathy?
8. Do you have your CCH from the Council of Homeopathic Certification?
9. Do you know how to explain homeopathy in 1 minute or less from the point of
view of the client?
10. Do you give back to the homeopathy community–member of National Center of
Homeopathy, Homeopathy World Community, give lectures educating the public about
homeopathy, do social networking supporting homeopathy, something?

Finally the New York Times Mentions Homeopathy

Thank you New York Times for telling people about the benefits of the homeopathic remedy Arnica and homeopathy!
Read the article here: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09/17/the-alternative-medicine-cabinet-arnica/
Mothers, who shop at Whole Foods or pay attention to feeding their kids healthy foods, know about the homeopathic remedy Arnica. I used to carry Arnica in my purse when Alex was little in case of a major injury. It is one of those easy to prescribe homeopathic remedies that works everytime. You or someone close to you injures themselves by a blow– where you would expect swelling and bruising–then give 2-3 pellets of Arnica.
It is easy and amazing how quickly you’ll see the results. I remember twice in my life I crushed my fingers very badly–once in a garage door and another time in garden shears. The pain and swelling disappeared immediately after taking Arnica.
I highly recommend parents, day cares, elementary schools, or any other place where it is common to have injuries to have the homeopathic remedy Arnica 30 c available. It is remarkable the relief Arnica provides.

Now for an update…
Two years ago, we sent out an appeal for help with financing this film and many beautiful souls responded which enabled us to send a small crew to Peru. That was two years ago. This has been such a heart-based project in the way it’s been seed funded, in the way the crew have worked on deferred payments and in the way that we have worked as a circle of filmmakers.
When we couldn’t afford to send a crew to film a particular gathering,
individual cameramen would step up and shoot on our behalf, making this a low carbon footprint production. The 5.3 million hits to our website clearly demonstrates the worldwide appeal for this genre of film.
It has been a long time in production but we are on the final run of
principal photography now. When you allow Spirit to guide who and what you film, it takes on a timing all of it’s own. It requires that you steer your ship with instinct and intuition as your guides. Right now we are looking for funds to film the final part and then we are into the home run and post production stages of the film.
…It is madness to spend millions of dollars on films that do not elevate
the human condition, but contribute to further suffering. Each new film that is brought forth has the opportunity to contribute to an evolutionary leap for humankind, or it can further contribute to the decline of our civilization. Our films need to become guiding lights during this time of confusion and out-dated mythologies. (Celeste Allegrea Adams – 2009

Zicam is Not Homeopathic or Homeopathy!
June 24, 2009 by innerhealth
It is infuriating when claims are made against homeopathy by experts talking about something that is NOT homeopathy.
The latest came from a published AP article by Jeff Donn on Zicam which is NOT a homeopathic remedy.
Homeopathy is safe, effective and inexpensive medicine…See the excerpt from the National Center of Homeopathy email below:
“Last week, the FDA issued a Warning Letter to the company that manufactures an over-the-counter nasal spray for colds called Zicam. Zicam contains zinc gluconate in a 2X solution as well as many other ingredients including benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydroxide, hydroxycellulose, glycerol, and a couple of other “solvents,” preservatives, and suspending agents. The Warning Letter was issued after a number of consumers complained of problems with loss of smell from using the product.
The FDA’s action produced a story distributed by Associated Press (AP) that is full of fabrications and falsely called into question the safety of homeopathic remedies. Your NCH, in concert with the American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP), has been vigorously responding to the AP story.
Among the false claims and inferences in the AP story:
False Claim: Homeopathic remedies are not regulated – they are treated like dietary supplements.
Fact: Homeopathic medications are regulated by the FDA and have been used safely in the United States since before the passage of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act in 1938. Homeopathic medicines have an extraordinary record of safety.
False Claim: FDA side-effect reports suggest homeopathic remedies are a problem for consumers.
Fact: The safety record of homeopathic remedies over the past 200 years is truly exemplary. A recent study by the American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists (AAHP) documents this outstanding record in detail (see the home page at www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org for more information). Conventional drugs used by allopathic medicine are far more troubling from a safety standpoint.
False Claim: The National Institutes of Health’s alternative medicine center spent $3.8 million on homeopathic research from 2002 to 2007 but is now abandoning studies on homeopathic drugs.
Fact: NCH received this assurance from the National Institutes of Health’s alternative medicine center on 6/23/09: “NCCAM will continue to accept investigator-initiated research grant applications for homeopathy and will continue to consider for funding those that receive outstanding scores in peer review.”
False Claim: “Very often, the only active ingredient is alcohol, and patients don’t know that, and they get a buzz on. The therapeutic effect is no greater or less than a martini.”
Fact: The overwhelming majority of homeopathic remedies sold are in solid pellet or tablet form and contain ZERO alcohol.
False Claim: In 1938, Congress passed a law granting homeopathic remedies the same legal status as regular pharmaceuticals. The law’s principal author was Sen. Royal Copeland of New York, a trained homeopath. “He did it in such a sneaky way that nobody really noticed or paid attention,” says medical author Natalie Robins.
Fact: Senator Royal Copeland, a major presence in American medicine at the end of the 19th century, rose to national fame when he was elected into the U.S. Senate in 1922. His career was distinguished in many ways, but he is best known as architect of the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act of 1938, the success of which reflected his tireless effort over a period of five years. Copeland was trained as a homeopathic physician at the University of Michigan, at a time when homeopathy was a significant part of the U.S. healthcare system.
False Claim: “With arcane ingredients like “nux vomica” and “arsenicum album,” many homeopathic medicines sound like something brewed in a druid’s kettle.”
Fact: Homeopathic remedies are named by their proper scientific designations (often in Latin), an accepted world-wide standard for naming substances, rather than the misleading kinds of names attached to drugs by pharmaceutical companies. For example, “Nux vomica” is the proper botanical Latin name for the nut of a particular tree.
False Claim: There is no evidence of effectiveness.
Fact: There are literally hundreds of high quality basic science, pre-clinical and clinical studies published in respected journals like Pediatrics, Chest, Rheumatology, The Lancet and others showing that homeopathy works (for more information, please visit the NCH website at http://homeopathic.org/articles/view,173). To claim otherwise is bad science and very irresponsible journalism.
How can NCH members help?
If you have seen this AP story in your local newspaper – please write a letter or send an e-mail to the Editor, join blogs, etc. stating your support of homeopathy, and ask other supporters of homeopathy in your circle of friends to do likewise. Refer to the bullet points above to craft your letter if that is helpful.
You can also send an e-mail to AP: info@ap.org and it will be forwarded to the reporter or editor. The reporter is JEFF DONN.
Also – encourage your friends and neighbors to become members of NCH by going to www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org, and click on “Join Now.” We are a small organization with a very BIG mission.
